- In October 1925, Stresemann agreed to the Locarno Treaties. This meant that the western borders were agreed on, but not the eastern.
- In October 1928, Germany was one of 65 countries to sign the Kellog-Briand Pact. They promised not to use force to settle arguments.
- The Locarno Treaties suggested that Germany was at last prepared to accept the terms of the Versailles Treaty. Germany joined the League of Nations in 1926. The Kellogg-Briand Pact seemed to be a step towards lasting peace.
